Susan Brown, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
Susan’s work is guided by a commitment to connection and compassion, with a focus on tailoring interventions to each individual’s needs. She specializes in developing strategies for non-violent communication, promoting life balance, and fostering self-acceptance. Her therapeutic approach emphasizes compassion and aims to strengthen family relationships. She believes in collaborative therapy, empowering clients to set meaningful goals and actively participate in creating their personalized treatment plans.
She has extensive experience supporting individuals through grief and loss, navigating significant life transitions, and providing compassionate care for those facing existential challenges. Mindfulness is a central component of my practice, helping clients process their experiences and cultivate resilience.
Her therapeutic methods integrate Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, and other evidence-based modalities. This flexible approach allows clients to apply personalized strategies to enhance their mental wellness.
Susan has worked with adults and couples at risk for suicide, survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse, and those coping with grief and loss. Recently, her practice has expanded to include Somatic Experiencing and Buddhist-based psychology. Having personally experienced the loss of a spouse, she brings a deep understanding of grief and is certified in grief counseling.
